Voluntary Assisted Dying

Hearing from you

The Queensland Parliament is currently considering a draft bill on Voluntary Assisted Dying. The Premier has announced that this will be a conscience vote, meaning that all Members of Parliament will be free to vote as they wish, without party influence.

I was elected to represent the people of Cooper, and I am committed to consulting with my constituents to hear each of your personal views surrounding this important issue.

In the eight months since my election, I have provided every person in our electorate with the opportunity to speak with me regarding the proposed laws. VAD and other end-of-life choices are extremely complex and deeply personal issues.

If you'd like to read more about this, I'd recommend the report summary from the Queensland Law Reform Commission (who recently undertook a comprehensive review and drafted the Bill).

I encourage you to have your say. You can contact me on the details below, or you can respond online here.
