a Library For The Gap
For years, many of us having been fighting to get a local library to provide community space and more learning resources for our community.
The Gap State High School’s Library also needed an upgrade.
Our plan is to replace The Gap SHS’s library in a way that will also provide the additional community spaces we desperately need in The Gap, and be built to provide a future public borrowing scheme operating outside of school hours.
This is a new model for Queensland however joint use libraries (school/community) have been very successful in South Australia.
I am excited about our community being the first place in Queensland to implement this model however I will make sure there is extensive consultation so that both the school and our local community see the benefit of this new facility.
If you are interested in coming along to an event about the library to find out more, ask questions, and start to think about how our community will benefit from this commitment - fill in the form on this page.
