SMALL BUSINESS AWARDS 2023

It’s a pretty challenging time for a lot of small businesses at the moment. One of the themes that owners and operators speak with me about is the importance of reminding customers to shop and support local.

That’s why I’m partnering with Minister for Small Business Di Farmer and launching Cooper’s Small Business Awards for 2023.

These awards will give locals the opportunity to nominate their favorite businesses in the areas of:

  • Health, wellbeing and fitness

  • Trades and services

  • Beauty and hairdressing

  • Food and beverage (bars and breweries)

  • Cafe and restaurant

  • Retail and sales

  • Social enterprise/community focus

  • Professional services

  • Creative arts

  • Young Business Person of the Year, and

  • Woman in Business

How will this work?

As much as it pains me to say it… this will be a popularity contest, with locals being asked to nominate their favorite small business.

Any business in our electorate will be eligible to be nominated. Anyone can nominate a business, and as many businesses as they like – but they can only nominate the same business once (in other words, a customer can’t nominate the same coffee shop every week although that’s a lovely thing for them to do!)

To win, all you need to do is to encourage your customers to nominate you at the survey link below. And for doing that, people go in the draw to win $100 to be spent locally.

How can I get involved and promote this?

Nominations will open on Monday 2nd October, and will remain open for an approximate four-week period, closing on Friday 3rd November. Winners will be announced by Friday 17 November.

If you want to enter, fill in our survey here or scan the QR code below.
